Summerhome Park is a magical community built on volunteer work and generations of families that summer here every year The Summerhome Park Improvement Club (SHPIC) is a volunteer run organization that curates a perfect summer for families who live in the neighborhood. The SHPIC season runs all summer long.
The Beach
Summerhome Park Beach is accessible only to members and their guests. Families put up umbrellas and keep their chairs and umbrellas (and floaties) on the beach all summer long. Your canoe, kayak, or paddleboard can be tied up at the dock to make weekends care free and easy!
The Lodge:
Run by community members, the Lodge is the central gathering place for Summerhome Park. Classic summer fun food is served (the best french fries, burgers, and milkshakes) and beer and wine along with a few salads and whatever else the lodge operators fancy. The kids enjoy the arcade, candy, and ice cream, and play pool with their summer buddies. At night on the weekends (in the summer), the lodge turns into a dance party for adults - fun for everyone.
Events:
The summer is sprinkled with community wide events - again, put on by volunteers. We have a summer welcome dinner, a costumed theme night, and end of summer dinner (with dancing!). The fourth of July celebration is one that can't be missed with swim races, hot dogs on the beach, and a magical lighted boat parade that families participate in. Some events have an entry fee (see newsletter for details on this year’s events).
Kid activities:
In the summer, two days a week there are arts and crafts for the kids to participate in as well as "Monday Night Madness" where an evening activity is set up for the kiddos. Outdoor movies play at the amphitheater three nights a week for families to relax and enjoy together.
Hiking Trails:
Summerhome Park Corporation owns acres and acres of land around Summerhome Park. There are several wooded private hiking trails that are family friend for your enjoyment.
Forestville:
Forestville is a picturesque community nestled in the heart of Sonoma County’s wine country. This charming town is known for its stunning natural beauty, friendly locals, and thriving culinary and arts scenes. Wine tasting, boutique restaurants, and river enjoyment are at your fingertips.
